Our Program:

In our Music classes, we primarily use an academic method called the Kodály Method. Kodály is an elementary music method created by Zoltan Kodály, a Hungarian composer and philosopher who lived in the 1800-1900's and believed that music education should begin at birth, and could best be taught using the folk music of one's own culture.

This method of teaching focuses on teaching concepts in a sequence that is natural to the developmental stages of the learner using a prepare-present-practice model (experiencing a concept before the introduction of notation/terminology). Only the highest quality of music is used on this music literacy journey, and there is a great emphasis on using children's natural play, joy, and beauty as part of the instructional process.
